A reason to bring your business community together.
ParishLocal gives your parish a natural reason to recognise and celebrate the local businesses that support your community — whether that’s a mention in the bulletin, a shoutout at Mass, or an annual gathering of parish business supporters.
The directory becomes a catalyst for deeper community connection. Parishioners discovering businesses connected to the community, and businesses finding a community worth supporting.
Simple, transparent pricing.
There is no cost to your parish — no setup fee, no monthly fee, no platform subscription, no online transactions fees. Businesses pay an annual listing fee, and your parish receives the majority of that fee. ParishLocal deducts a small management fee per listing to cover the platform, payments, renewals and reporting.
| Listing tier | Parish receives | Management fee |
|---|---|---|
| Standard $350 per year | $275 | $75 per year |
| Featured Supporter $600 per year | $500 | $100 per year |
| Parish Sponsor $1,200 per year | $1,000 | $200 per year |

Is it free to set up?
Yes. There is no upfront setup cost and no annual platform fee. ParishLocal charges a small management fee per listing, deducted before your parish share is remitted. There are no surprises — your parish keeps the majority of every listing fee.
How does the parish receive its funds?
ParishLocal remits your parish share quarterly — at the end of March, June, September and December. Each payment is accompanied by a simple itemised report showing new listings added, renewals processed, total collected, and the amount remitted to your parish. You don’t need to chase anything or do any accounting — it arrives with everything already explained.
How does ParishLocal help our parish raise funds?
Businesses pay an annual fee to be listed in your parish directory. Parishioners can then use the directory to find businesses connected to, recommended by, or supporting the parish community. This creates a recurring fundraising stream without asking parishioners for another donation.
How much could our parish raise?
It depends on the size of your parish and how many businesses participate. A directory with 20 listings across a typical mix of tiers raises approximately $8,500 per year for the parish. Adding more Parish Supporters or Parish Sponsors can increase this meaningfully. Actual results depend on parish size, local business engagement and how actively the directory is promoted.
Can we include our parish school?
Yes. Parishes with a connected school can extend the directory to include the school community, giving local businesses visibility across both. This broadens the audience for the directory and can meaningfully increase the number of businesses that choose to list — and the revenue the parish raises as a result.
How do we promote the directory?
Most parishes promote the directory through channels they already use: the weekly bulletin, parish newsletter, website, social media, noticeboards, Mass announcements and QR codes. ParishLocal provides suggested wording, bulletin notices, email copy and simple promotional material so your parish does not have to create everything from scratch.
Will this create more work for the parish office?
The aim is the opposite. ParishLocal is designed as a managed, low-admin system. Your parish helps promote the directory and may choose to review listings, but the submission process, listing structure, reminders and reporting are designed to reduce manual work.
Are listed businesses endorsed by the parish?
No. A listing does not mean the parish formally endorses, verifies or guarantees the business. ParishLocal avoids language like “parish approved” or “officially endorsed.” Listings simply help parishioners discover businesses that are connected to, recommended by, or supporting the parish community. Parishioners should still make their own enquiries before engaging any business.
Who decides which businesses are included?
Listings are reviewed before publication. In the early version, ParishLocal can manage this review process in consultation with the parish. The parish can also request that a listing be removed if there is a concern.
Can parishioners recommend businesses?
Yes. Parishioners can recommend businesses they have personally used and appreciated. These recommendations do not appear automatically — they are reviewed first, and the business may then be invited to create or claim a listing.
How do renewals work?
Each listing runs for one year. Before the listing expires, the business receives renewal reminders with the option to renew. This helps the parish build recurring income without manually chasing every business.
Do businesses receive an invoice or receipt when they pay?
Yes. A receipt is issued automatically by Stripe at the time of payment, sent directly to the business’s email address. It clearly describes the listing purchased and the parish it supports. Businesses can retain this for their own records. The parish does not need to issue any invoices or handle any payment administration.
What happens if someone has a bad experience with a listed business?
The parish is not responsible for the conduct or work of listed businesses. However, concerns can be reviewed, and a listing can be removed if appropriate. ParishLocal includes clear disclaimer language so parishioners understand that listings are not formal endorsements.
