What do I get for my listing fee?
A business listing in the parish directory for 12 months. Standard listings include your business name, contact details, category and a brief description. Featured and sponsor tiers include additional visibility, prominence in the directory and enhanced recognition within the parish community.
How long before my listing goes live?
Usually within 1 business day of payment being confirmed. ParishLocal reviews your details and sets up your listing – you’ll receive an email confirmation with a link to your live listing once it’s published.
Do I need to provide a photo?
A photo or logo is recommended, it’s the first thing parishioners see on your listing card. We’ll ask for one after your application is approved. If you don’t have one ready, your listing can still go live and be updated later. Featured Supporter and Parish Sponsor listings also support a gallery of additional images.
Will I receive a receipt or invoice after payment?
Yes. A receipt is issued automatically by Stripe at the time of payment. It will be sent to the email address provided during the application process and will clearly describe the listing purchased. This receipt can be retained for your business records.
Is my listing fee tax deductible?
For many businesses, yes, but it depends on your individual circumstances. A listing fee may be deductible as a business advertising or marketing expense. ParishLocal does not provide tax advice. We recommend speaking with your accountant, and your Stripe receipt provides the documentation you would need to support any such claim.
Who sees my listing?
Your listing is publicly visible on the parish’s directory page and can be found by anyone visiting that page. The primary audience is parishioners and people connected to the local community. The directory is not a general search engine listing, but a trusted local resource for a specific community.
Can I upgrade or cancel my listing?
Businesses wishing to upgrade their listing tier can do so at any time by contacting ParishLocal. Upgrades are charged at a pro-rata rate for the remaining term. Listing fees are generally non-refundable if a business cancels mid-term, as set out in the terms at the time of payment. ParishLocal manages all changes, businesses do not need to contact the parish directly.
When does my listing renew?
Listings run for 12 months from the date of payment. ParishLocal will send a renewal reminder approximately 30 days before expiry. Renewal is straightforward and uses the same payment process as the original listing. If you do not wish to renew, simply do not act on the reminder and your listing will be removed at expiry.
